How long does a balloon fly?

Flight time depends on proper storage conditions! Their violation can reduce the flight time by at least 10-12 hours!
During rain and stuffy weather, the balloons may not fly for even 1 day, even with treatment!
Storage conditions for inflated helium balloons:
Protect from hot temperatures. Summer is the hardest time for helium balloons.
Protect from moisture. Firstly, humidity is harmful to the latex material itself. Secondly, at humidity over 75%, treating the balloon with a special gel is practically useless, the treatment at such humidity does not dry and accordingly does not form a protective film on the inner surface of the balloon. The drier your room, the faster the treatment will dry and the longer the balloons will fly. As a rule, during the heating season, thanks to centralized heating and low humidity outside, apartments have a favorable environment for latex balloons. So try to store them in a room with very low humidity. However, it is important to understand that not everyone has such conditions. Everything is individual.
Protect from direct sunlight. Ultraviolet rays gradually destroy the material of the balloon, which leads to helium leakage. Of course, you shouldn't hide them in a dark closet, but you shouldn't put them near a sunny window either. Also, in the open sun, the balloon can heat up and expand, and the balloon can burst.
Do not use balloons outside. Balloons will never fly for long after being outside. Also, after such a walk, the balloons will quickly become cloudy and lose their original appearance.
Protect from sudden temperature changes and drafts. Compression and subsequent expansion of the ball will not do it any good.
Provide peace. Balloons are decoration, the more you crush them, knock them against the ceiling… the less they fly. Also, hitting and crushing the balloon leads to the fact that the dried treatment cracks and the balloon again becomes unprotected from helium leakage.
Filling. It is important to remember that the lifting force of the balloon is not great, the more confetti it contains, the more it is pulled down. Confetti balloons usually fall first. Also, transparent balloons always quickly become cloudy in the summer.
Package. It is not recommended to store balloons in a package for more than 1 hour after inflating, this prevents the drying of the treatment. In humid weather, a kind of sauna is formed in the package, which is harmful to the balloons! We always try to deliver the balloons to the apartment and unpack them in front of the client! The package is for transportation, not for storing balloons.
Transportation of balloons. Avoid repeated and independent transportation of balloons. Often, customers, when transporting balloons themselves, violate all possible storage conditions.
Manufacturer. All balls are from different manufacturers and have different properties, one ball is thicker, another is thinner, the third is light, and the fourth is heavy. All this can greatly affect the flight time of the ball.
Balloon shape. The main indicator of the flight duration of a latex balloon is also the volume of helium it contains! For example, heart-shaped balloons contain much less helium than standard 12d balloons, so they fly for much less time!

With helium
Helium molecules penetrate the porous structure of the latex and gradually escape from the balloon. Thus, the balloon deflates, and the lifting force gradually decreases. The more helium is pumped into the balloon, the faster it deflates: the walls of the latex stretch, and the pores become larger. Accordingly, the gas comes out faster. A kind of "sieve" is created in the walls of the balloon. The rate of helium exit from the balloon increases at high temperatures and when moisture gets on the balloon.
With air
It deflates gradually because the air comes out through the pores of the balloon and through the inflatable hole, even though it is tied very tightly. Such balloons do not fly without external force, because the lifting capacity of the air is not so high: the air in the room and the air in the balloon are equal in mass, and only the mass of the latex itself, the balloon, is added. Therefore, the mass of the balloon as a whole is "not justified" in front of the force of gravity.
With special Ultra Hi-float treatment
HI-FLOAT creates a film on the surface of the balloon that traps helium inside, so the gas evaporates very slowly. Such balloons, like all without exception, are affected by temperature changes, open sun and moisture.
With confetti inside
Like regular latex balloons, confetti balloons are also treated with a special compound to extend their flight. However, due to the natural weight of the confetti itself, such balloons fly significantly less than regular latex balloons with treatment. Confetti balloons fly from 1 day to 5-6 days depending on the conditions of storage, use and transportation. The guaranteed flight period is 1 day, but it is valid only if the balloons are properly maintained and used. (What affects the flight time of balloons, read at the end of the article)
With feathers inside (ATTENTION! The balloon flies for no more than 1 day)
Unlike regular latex balloons, bubble balloons are made of a different material, plastic film. If such a balloon is inflated without filling or with foil confetti inside, such a balloon is processed in the standard way, like regular latex balloons. But if such a balloon is inflated with decorative feathers, then such balloons can't be treated (otherwise all the feathers will stick together and will not look aesthetically pleasing). Since the balloon is not treated and has a filling (which naturally pulls it down), such balloons hang for 1-2 days. But if an inscription is added to the balloon, which is applied with a film, which in turn also has weight, then such balloons hang for no more than 1 day and are intended only for a few hours of the celebration. Yes, they are very impressive, but they do not hang for long. We ask you to pay attention to this information when ordering such balloons.
Foil with helium
Thanks to the foil, these balls are less porous, so they hold their shape longer.
How long does it take for a balloon to deflate depending on its volume?
A 90 cm helium balloon will fly for a maximum of 18-19 hours. Helium is used to inflate balloons from 28 cm, if the balloon is smaller, the helium will not last long - about 5 hours. It will not last for the whole party. A "bouquet" of balloons lasts on average 5-7 days, toys and compositions of balloons will last about a week. Under the influence of UV rays, balloons can generally burst after 2-3 hours.
NOTE!
What reduces the flight time of the balls:
1. Temperature difference. For example, balls were brought into a room from the cold, and then taken out into the cold again.
2. Drafts. Especially when we open the windows for ventilation, and the balls are under the ceiling.
3. Storage at very low temperatures (cars, garages, etc.) or very high temperatures (near open windows on the sunny side, in a stuffy room, in a car in the heat, etc.) The ideal storage temperature for balloons is 24 degrees.
4. High humidity. The treatment dries more slowly and helium gradually seeps through the latex.
5. Keeping balloons in the open sun. Latex is destroyed by sunlight, balloons become cloudy, shrink faster, and burst.
6. Active games with balls, dragging balls from room to room, mechanical damage, dust.
ATTENTION! In summer, balloons fly for a significantly shorter time than in winter.
